I. Application Requirements
Hold a degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in China. Fresh graduates must obtain their bachelor’s degree before enrollment at the latest.
Be of good character and in good health, meeting the stipulated physical examination standards.
Possess a valid Level 5 certificate of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).
II. Application
(1) Study Format: Full-time.
(2) Application and Document Submission Method
Candidates must log in to the Central Conservatory of Music International Postgraduate Student Admission System (URL: https://yjszs.ccom.edu.cn/tp/zs/login/toLogin/lxs) between 10:00 AM on February 20, 2026, and 4:00 PM on March 2, 2026, to fill in the application information and submit electronic materials.
Refer to the attachment for the enrollment program directory. Candidates can only apply for one major/specialization offered by our university.
During the application period, candidates can modify their online application information. No supplementary applications will be accepted after the deadline. Candidates should carefully understand and strictly follow the application conditions and related requirements when choosing their program, accurately fill in their personal online application information, and provide authentic materials. Candidates shall bear the consequences, such as being disqualified from the examination or admission, resulting from failure to meet the application conditions/requirements, errors in the online application information, or providing false information.
Electronic materials must be compiled and named strictly according to the following requirements:
Identification Document: Scan all pages of the candidate's valid passport into a single PDF file. Name it "Candidate's ID Document".
Manually Signed Application Form: Candidates should export the application form from the system, print it, sign it by hand, scan all pages into a single PDF file, and name it "Manually Signed Application Form". Application information confirmed by the candidate will not be modified, and candidates shall bear all consequences caused by their own filling errors.
Two Letters of Recommendation: Scan the two letters of recommendation (template in the attachment) signed by experts (associate professor or above, or equivalent professional title) related to the intended major into two separate PDF files. Name them "Letter of Recommendation 1" and "Letter of Recommendation 2".
Academic Credentials: Candidates must submit their undergraduate diploma or bachelor's degree certificate (for degrees obtained from overseas institutions, certification from the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center is required; fresh graduates must submit a certificate of expected graduation, and must obtain a nationally recognized undergraduate diploma or bachelor's degree certificate before enrollment at the latest). Scan the relevant materials into a single PDF file and name it "Academic Credentials".
Portfolio Materials: Submit portfolio materials as required by the admission brochures of the respective departments and majors. Accepted file formats are limited to jpg, pdf, mp3, wav, mp4, and mov.
Screenshot of Successful Payment: Candidates must use Alipay to scan the QR code to pay the application fee of 800 RMB, with remarks including their name and intended research direction. Upload a screenshot of the successful payment order and name it "Payment Screenshot". All fees are the candidate's responsibility and are non-refundable for those who do not take the examination after application.
Valid Level 5 HSK Certificate: Scan all pages of the certificate into a single PDF file and name it "Level 5 HSK Certificate".
Physical Examination Report: Health status must meet the stipulated standards. Scan the entire physical examination report into a single PDF file and name it "Physical Examination Report".
(3) Materials to be Submitted to the International Students Office
Candidates should fill out the "Application Form for International Students" (see attachment) and send it to the email address: pchunni@ccom.edu.cn.
Candidates must also prepare a Certificate of No Criminal Record and Proof of Financial Capability in advance, and send them to the email address pchunni@ccom.edu.cn no later than before the intended admission. Candidates who fail the review will have their intended admission qualification revoked.
III. Examination
(1) The following departments/adoptions will adopt a "Major Subject + Interview" examination method:
Music Education Department: The content and requirements for the Major Subject examination are the same as for full-time national entrance examination master's students. Interview requirements: Assess the candidate's sight-singing and ear-training, choral conducting, piano skills, and mastery of compositional theory.
All specializations in the Composition Department and Electronic Music specializations: The content and requirements for the Major Subject examination are the same as for full-time national entrance examination master's students. Interview requirements: (1) Candidate introduces their own learning experience; (2) Explains their understanding of important contemporary international composers; (3) States their expectations for the upcoming study in China; (4) Answers questions related to the written examination or submitted works.
Violin Making specialization: The content and requirements for the Major Subject examination are the same as for full-time national entrance examination master's students. Interview requirements: Assess fundamental and professional knowledge of violin making.
(2) The following departments/adoptions will only assess the Major Subject:
All specializations in the Conducting Department, Piano Department, Orchestral Instruments Department, Folk Instruments Department, Vocal Opera Department, and the Sound Art Direction specialization: The content and requirements for the Major Subject examination are the same as for full-time national entrance examination master's students.
(3) The examination method and content for all specializations in the Musicology Department are the same as for full-time national entrance examination master's students (excluding examinations in Politics, Foreign Language, and Instrument Performance).
(4) The examination method and content for Voice Therapy and Music Therapy are the same as for full-time national entrance examination master's students (excluding examinations in Politics and Foreign Language).
Examination information for the Accordion Performance specialization (Piano Department), Bassoon Performance, Percussion Performance, Classical Guitar Performance, Harp Performance specializations (Orchestral Instruments Department), Sanxian Performance, Sheng Performance, Suona Performance specializations (Folk Instruments Department), and the Music Therapy specialization (Music AI & Music Info Tech Department) can be found in the attachment.

The examination in late March 2026 will be conducted offline. Candidates must take the examination on-site at the Central Conservatory of Music (No. 43 Baojia Street, Xicheng District, Beijing). IV. Admission
Our Conservatory will conduct a comprehensive review based on the candidate's application materials and examination results, and admit the best candidates. The admission notice is tentatively scheduled to be issued to the candidate by our Conservatory in July 2026. Admission procedures should be completed as required by the admission notice.
V. Study and Degree Conferment
The study period for full-time master's students is three years.
Students who pass all required courses, obtain the stipulated credits, pass the degree recital/portfolio, and pass the master's thesis, and who meet the regulations of the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Academic Degrees", will be awarded a Master's Degree Certificate and a Graduation Certificate.
VI. Tuition and Accommodation
Tuition is 43,000 RMB per student per year, payable in full upon registration each year.
